Mark N Tomkins is a recognized film and theater painter, as well as scenic artist, born January 16, 1975, in Vancouver, British Columbia. His career however began in the United States, right after finishing the Animation program at Capilano University in Vancouver. In 1999 his career peaked and he established himself as a prominent artist through his work, followed by immediate success.
Throughout his fruitful career, Mark N Tompkins has painted many scenes and has collaborated with many other notable artists and leading scenic artists. Being apprentice to one of the world's finest scenic artists within the film industry gave him the confidence to develop unique skills and techniques, and use them in this breath-taking art form. He has assisted in the production of realistic scenery backdrops on many feature films such as “I, Robot” “Fantastic Four”, “Fifty Shades of Grey”, “Godzilla” and many more.
Once he established himself in the industry, he was able to freelance in design and enjoy traveling around the work, evolving as an artist through his work. Mark N Tompkins has been working independently as an artist for a long time now. With this independence, his artwork grew richer, freer and more expressive. His creative imagination and knowledge of diverse disciplines have shaped both his work and artistic philosophy.
